Ep. 781 – “Outlander” for the SNES or “Mad Max 2: Legally Distinct Edition”

Outlander. So here is the thing, this is the Mad Max 2 game for SNES. Why isn’t it called Mad Max? Reasons. Outlander. Licensing. All that jazz. The important part is that there was a Max Max 2: The Road Warrior for SNES but it ended up being called Outlander. Of course there are tons of other things called Outlander. So many other things I would have rather this game been called Crazy Carl or Nutty Nathaniel. ANYWAY. We get to talk about Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior! And also the stuff about this game. So please, sit awhile and listen us review and an amazing movie and a game that falls all over the spectrum for us! Outlander. There is also a draft. You like drafts, right? We do. We hope you do too.

Ep. 763 – Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie go go goes to this podcast with a simple roll a d20 courtesy of the mini-randomizer that only randomizes SNES movie games. We played the first Power Rangers game and that horrendous Mario Kart clone of a Power Rangers racing game with Zeo. Where does this game fall in that spectrum? We’ll get to that but first we break down the movie and were it’s release landed with us. Dave had a big week so we jump into that news, talk about some books (that may also include some Dark Tower talk) but there is plenty of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie talk to go around, so please sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 687 – Stone Protectors

Stone Protectors! Do you recall this 1993 SMASH hit cartoon that aired 8 episodes and tried to combine the troll doll craze with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle craze? No?! But it even had a Super Nintendo release! Still no?! Well, neither did we so we all played it and do a pretty deep dive into it. We had to start with the new tradition of some sort of food draft – this time it’s cookies! So we did that, visited Ian’s Horror Hole, discussed some games we had played, Ian reveals to use there is a Criterion Collection Streaming Service, and end with a binge of all the (now long expired) food that everyone has sent in to us. So please come sit awhile and listen to three white guys talk about things!

Ep. 676 – Rival Turf!

Rival Turf

Rival Turf! We have finally arrived at the last (it’s the first chronologically but the last for us to do) in the Rushing Beat Series. Thanks to Nintendo bringing literally anything Jaleco makes, at whatever discount the license comes at, to the Nintendo Switch Online platform. We have to talk about the movie Prey and many things about the Predator movies. Ian continues with journey into the dark realm of anime, Dave gives us a look into the WB Multiverse game, and Tyler discusses his streaming. And we talk quite a bit about Rival Turf!, what we think about it, and how is compares to the games it tries to emulate. So why not come sit awhile and listen to three old guys talk about an old game. Rival Turf!

Ep. 673 – Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones

Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones had to be done. The final NES Saga featuring Bimmy and Jimmy is now under TADPOG’s belt. We will get back to the Scott Pilgrim Inspired 5e D&D game next week but for now we talk about Thor, JoJo, horror movies, and a deep dive into the not so successful Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones. Come listen to us open a fan package, take some calls, and much more!

Ep. 669 – King of Dragons

King of Dragons! The Randomizer won’t let you down, even when COVID and work related events will! We had to postpone the newest episode of The Scott Pilgrim game so we fell back on what the Randomizer chose after Tecmo Super Bowl – King of Dragons. It’s more medieval madness in the vein as Knights of the Round and Golden Axe. We do a deep dive as we all actually played this game together (Thank you, Nintendo Switch Online). But before that we talk about Death Note, how not to run a pizza place, and we take a fun psychological quiz – make sure to grab a pencil and paper so you can play along, it’s fun. Stop rolling your eyes, Dane. It’s fun. You’ll see.

Ep. 631 – Brawl Brothers

Brawl Brothers

Brawl Brothers! Just look at the art for the game. It’s supposed to two guys down the middle but just looks pretty terrible. Is this art better or worse than the game? Come find out! We talk about suffering from gout, lay heaps of praise upon the Post Papa John’s version of Papa John’s (this time with extra Shaq). We discuss taking care of your house, beef jerky, board games, the outrageous cost of pepperoncini peppers.

Ep. 600 – The Combatribes

The Combatribes

What is a cyborg? Is it a robot? Are they like androids? All we know is THEY AIN’T LADIES, courtesy of The Combatribes, this week’s SNES game from The Randomizer. We bring back Casey of Piggy Palace fame to talk about his emotional week…and this game. Is The Combatribes a hidden gem? What is Casey’s racy snapchat? What kind of dress-up are we going to be playing? Have a listen and find out!
