You know what’s better than pretty much everything? Punching a big cartoon character right in his stupid face. You know what’s almost better than that? This episode of TADPOG where we talk at length about IGN’s 17th ranked Super Nintendo game, Super Punch-Out!!. No special guests this time. Just Tyler and Dave going back to their roots and keeping it old-school.
Hey TADPOG Nation. If you’re a regular listener you’ll know there has been quite the heated contest for who will guest host more in the course of TADPOG – Josh Nance of Uniracers Fame or Nicole Nance of Kirby fame? Spoilers, Nicole overcomes Josh in this episode by hosting a deep discussion over Alan Wake. We talk about liquor and going to alternative school along with some points about if Alan Wake is a quality game or not.
Do you remember why we started this podcast? It was to play through IGN’s Top 100 SNES games and muse about our experiences. Well, now we still do that on Wednesdays and call it Original Flavor Wednesdays. Its Wednesday! So we’re talking about IGN’s 19th ranked game, F-Zero. This was a launch game so we have quite a few tales to tell about our feelings on this game. So we talk about racing, all sorts of racing stuff and maybe some movies, television, spam and those stupid clear tail lights.
TADPOG Nation, our dear friend Jacob, of Wolf Fighting Fame (actually Final Fight, X-Men, Populous, Bioshock, Fatal Fury 2, NHL 94, Gone Home, Interview, Metal Warriors and Act Raiser fame) has come back into town and we love him so much we try to get him in some episodes he wants to talk about. So by his request we’re talking about Bastion. We can’t pretend we’re not going to talk about how much we love this game but we also talk about telling stories as kids, how to act normal and we take a call that really messes with Jacob.
Jon Turley (of NBA James fame) and Jacob York (of wolf-fighting fame) join us as we cross into IGN’s top 20 SNES games. On this episode we’re talking about IGN’s 19th ranked Super Nintendo game: ActRaiser. Sometimes you’re a living paladin statue, sometimes you’re Cupid. I dunno. We’ll figure it out. It’s all good games going forward, right?
We thought you, citizens of the TADPOG Nation, would enjoy another installment of our “better know a guest host” series with an interview with Taryn. We talk about games but mostly her exploits as a restaurant manager, the bitter politics of high school, saying goodbye and the worst break-up and some stuff about strippers. She’s 95% an open book so we think you’ll enjoy this one if you like hearing a girl curse and tell stories.
It’s time for the Super TADPOG Original Flavor Wednesday Show! We’ve got Tim Baer (of this show fame) and Jon Turley (of NBA James fame) in the studio with us to talk about Super Mario All-Stars, the 20th ranked game on IGN’s Top 100 SNES games. There are audio issues in this one — sorry!
Another show composed entirely of tangents — you’re welcome. Some important TADPOG lore happens on this episode: Nicole Nance (of Kirby fame) guest-h0sts, tying with Josh for number of episodes hosted. Meg rejoins us to the delight of fishlipsjay (probably). This might be the first time two people with ladybits co-guest-host together…we’re not really sure, and we’re not gonna look it up because we’re lazy. Enjoy the show, folks.
