Ep. 749 – Drac’s Night Out

Drac’s Night Out is here and we are PUMPED! Get it? Because the game is sponsored by Reebok Pumps. Because Dracula needs those. But really, he does in this game. He’s like a reverse vampire where touching people kills him. We know this one sounds a little different (we do address is right away) but Tyler has finally succumb to COVID and needed to record remotely. We didn’t want to miss another week of telling you guys about Drac’s Night Out. So we do a Vampire draft, talk about vampires, and finally do a deep dive into this unreleased NES game game. So please just sit awhile and listen to Drac’s Night Out.

Ep. 747 – Clue

Clue is here! We know the SNES game isn’t really based off the movie but it’s a really great excuse to also rewatch the Tim Curry classic since there may not be a huge amount to say about an SNES game based off a board game that plays…very much like a board game. So please come hang out with us while we talk some TV shows, FFXIV expansions, some Dark Tower, do a board game draft AND talk a whole lot about Clue the movie. And as much as the SNES game as possible. Clue!

Ep. 746 – The Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers! It’s an 90s Super Nintendo game based off an 80s movie based on a 70s SNL skit, that is how you know it’s quality stuff and totally appropriate to all the material its based on. But first we must discuss the Blues Brothers movie at length, and even before that we draft out our personal top tens of SNL skits. We also talk various Jacks in media, washing machine woes and more. So please, sit awhile and listen to The Blues Brothers!

Ep. 743 – Alien vs Predator

Alien vs Predator comes along in our stunning series of SNES games with VS in the title. So that’s 2 out of the 3. We think. There is a list somewhere but it’s long. We’ll get there. You know what we’re about here at TADPOG. We congratulate Ian on winning an award. We talk plenty about the Dark Tower as Dave has moved onto Ian and Tyler’s favorite book of the whole series, Wizard and Glass. Dave tells of his journey into Final Fantasy XIV expansion packs. There is a deep dive into this movie and how the game stacks up to what happens in it and more. So please, sit awhile and listen to us go on about Alien vs Predator!

Ep. 742 – RoboCop 3

RoboCop 3, that means the coming of RoboCop not once, not twice but THRICE! And this time on the Super Nintendo! Was it a good movie? Was it a good game? Let me ask you this – was there a RoboCop 4? We do a deep dive into not just the game but also the movie, just for you. We talk about Thanksgiving foods, a little but of the MCU, and there just happens to be plenty more Dark Tower talk as Dave gets further into the series. So if you like a bit robo, and a little bit cop, and all about the Robocop, then we beg you to sit awhile and listen to RoboCop 3.

Ep. 741 – RoboCop Versus The Terminator

RoboCop Versus The Terminator robotically walks into way onto TADPOG shores. This sorta counts as an Arnold tangential movie, right? The streak continues? We make a strong come back with “Anime I?” since Ian has a very strong recommendation. We talk some about Thanksgiving (it was Thanksgiving Eve when we recorded this, after all), discuss what we’ve been playing then take up a Thanksgiving Foods draft, we honestly can’t recall if we have done that one before or not, before taking a deep dive into RoboCop Versus The Terminator. We have some feelings about this one, so please, sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 740 – Last Action Hero

Last Action Hero completes our SNES Schwarzenegger Series and we come full loaded to discuss what we thought not just about the game but also the movie – this is one Ian hadn’t even seen but Tyler has, that’s the very first time that has ever happened. But even better than all things Last Action Hero – Dave has started The Dark Tower series. So there is plenty of Dark Tower talk along with our theme. So if you enjoy any of it, please sit awhile and listen to our episode over Last Action Hero!

Ep. 737 – Cliffhanger

In the immortal words of Cliffhanger, “Hang on for your life!”. That’s right, pack your gear because we’re headed on a journey through the icy peaks of Cliffhanger for the Super Nintendo. This notoriously “bad video game”, based on the action film of the same name, was developed by Malibu Interactive and published by Sony Imagesoft in 1993. As we venture into the game and the movie it’s based on, get ready for a rollercoaster of discussions and nostalgia. We promise there’s a draft in this episode.
