Ep. 474 – Mega Man 11

Mega Man 11

Welcome to TADPNG, otherwise known as “Tyler and Dave’s Portable Network Graphics”—an audio program where hosts Tyler and Dave view .png files and describe them to each other in painstaking detail. Just kidding, it’s Tyler and Dave Play NEW Games! Get it? Okay, now that we’re all on the same page—the game that we discuss in this episode is Mega Man 11. Sure, the game just came out, but c’mon, it’s like Retro Nouveau™.

Ep. 466 – Super Buster Bros.

Super Buster Bros.

It’s raining bubbles! This week we’re talking about the Capcom shooter-puzzler for the SNES, Super Buster Bros. This game was requested by Sandwich Pope Phil, so we decided to invite him on to defend his suggestion. We open a package from Shadowrunner Kody. We take THREE quizzes!

Ep. 438 – Mega Man 2

Mega Man 2

This week we’re back, baby! And we’re talking about Mega Man 2 for the NES. We also open a big package from Mastermold and a couple of Christmas cards. We also talk about R. Kelly and DMX a little, and there is a “robots in pop-culture” quiz.  Continue reading

Ep. 431 – Ghosts ‘n Goblins

Ghosts 'n Goblins

Being the wise and courageour podcasters that we are, we feel strongth welling in our bodies. This feeling can only mean one thing: it’s time to talk about Ghosts ‘n Goblins, the 1986 Capcom platformer for the NES. We also talk about difficult games in general, QTPi “mearch”, sexual miscommunications, and Dave administers a “Ghosts or Goblins” quiz.  Continue reading

Ep. 410 – Super Street Fighter II

Super Street Fighter 2

We’re back on the Digital Trends list this week—which can only mean one thing—it’s time for Super Street Fighter II for the Sega Genesis. We talk about the game for a bit, but more importantly, we try a Marmite grilled cheese sandwich. We also open a listener package, pee in Swift the fox’s mouth, and brainstorm some charity stream ideas.  Continue reading

Ep. 397 – The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages

It’s been a long time since we’ve talked about a Game Boy Color game on the podcast…some might say it’s been ages! (Pause for laughter). Anyway, we’re actually talking about two Game Boy Color games from a little-known indie series called The Legend of Zelda (you probably haven’t heard of it). Yes, that’s right. We’re talking about Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, each developed by Flagship (Capcom) and published by Nintendo in 2001. We also open a package from Trashbear Joe Willard, a wedding invitation, and a package from Mastermold Mike. We take some voicemail, we bestow a new title and we struggle to come up with a kangaroo cereal mascot.

Ep. 313 – Street Fighter: The Movie

Street Fighter: The Movie Title Screen

Back on Episode 239 we opened a package mailed to us by “Jon from Louisiana”. Inside that package, we found a bunch of great stuff (wonderful toys). We also found Street Fighter: The Movie for Sega Saturn. We finally have a Sega Saturn to play it on (thank you, Ryan) so it’s time to subject ourselves to the pain. There’s a lot of game talk on this episode; we also open a package from New Drew and we take a few calls.

Ep. 282 – Darkwing Duck

Darkwing Duck

This is where Jon Turley helps us bring TADPOG from yeah to yes. We kind of talk about Darkwing Duck for the NES. What we really do is argue about Harrison Ford, Dave brings shame to his family by catastrophically failing a quiz about CAPCOM, and Tyler filibusters Jon.
