Ep. 610 – Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter

Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter

Well, it has “been a week”. With absolutely insane work schedules, Mothers Day events, graduations, and much much more, we were not able to get together this week to record something new new, but we didn’t want to skip a week. So…we’re opening The Patreon Vault to bring you an excellent episode that we recorded with one Ross Rachel Green from Across the Pond (you know, from the SNES quizzes on the show). We recorded this bonus episode back when we were doing bounties, and Ross put a bounty on a game that we hadn’t really heard of previously: Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter for the Sega Genesis, a game that tries to mash up a beat ’em up with a fighting game.

Important Facts About This Episode:
1. We originally recorded this back in October 2020.
2. We talk about giant feet a lot.
3. We would be without an episode today if it were not for our lovely Patreon donors. We appreciate the support and we thank you very much.

Ep. 591 – X-Men 2: Clone Wars

X-Men 2: Clone Wars

The Randomizer tried to throw us X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse which we have already done an episode on, so we countered with a game we were actually interested in: X-Men 2: Clone Wars for the Sega Genesis. IT’S OUR 8th ANNIVERSARY! So we are joined by Brandon of Axelay fame, and his girlfriend Cheryl of Brandon fame, to celebrate. This was a planned thing and not by total coincidence. So gather around and listen to traveling tales, stories of the past, a great package, some X-Men talk, and much more!

Ep. 484 – Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

Castle of Illusion

OH MAN! ARE YOU GUYS READY TO GET TOTALLY BUCK WILD THIS WEEK?! You know we bring it heavy with Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (and a surprising amount of game talk). Castle of Illusion is the current game of the month over on the Retro Gaming Monthly Facebook group, and we regularly talk about their monthly selections. We figured it was the perfect time to invite Steven Michael (the creator of the RGM group and Nerdy Thursday Super Fan) on to the show to dish about the game with us. Enjoy!

Ep. 472 – Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict

Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict

Did you know there was a Japanese-only Shining Force game that bridged Shining Force I and II? We didn’t until recently. So we played it. And we talk about it. We also talk about the loss of modern conveniences and which things were banned in our houses as children, so if you like Shining Force or maybe just like Tyler and Dave – check it out!

Ep. 383 – Phantasy Star IV (Part 2)

Phantasy Star IV

There can be only one Chaz! Josh (of Uniracers fame) rejoins us as we continue to discuss Phantasy Star IV for the Sega Genesis. This time we start our delve into the story of Phantasy Star IV, including the introduction to iconic characters like Chaz, Alys, Hahn, Rune, Gryz, and Rika. Some other important stuff happens too! We continue to rummage through Ruby Baron Paul Clewell’s package of barbecue sauces; we launch our annual Fruitcake Giveaway; Tyler quotes Tokyo Mew Mew; and we receive a postcard from the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium. Ep. 381 – Phantasy Star IV (Part 1)

Phantasy Star IV Title Screen

Believe it or not, we are finally talking about Digital Trends’ 6th-ranked Sega Genesis game: Phantasy Star IV. We review the game’s basic mechanics, and reveal our favorite characters and memories. But wait, there’s more! We open a huge package from Ruby Baron Paul Clewell, and Dave’s dad calls in to tell us everything he knows about Phantasy Star IV. We take some calls, and (of course) we invent Borat Chess.  Continue reading

Ep. 291 – Streets of Rage 2

Streets of Rage 2

Welcome to Kid Talk with Reverse “HawtBladez” Iguana and “Dave”. The Horrible No Good Very Bad Week is over so we’re talking about Streets of Rage 2. We also open Douglas’s heavy package; we drink sodas and crunch chips into our microphones just like professional podcasters (or Michelangelo in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie — yes, we realize that he was eating some kind of Butterfinger(?) not chips but please just go along with it for the sake of the bit).

Ep. 187 – Beyond Oasis

Beyond Oasis Title Screen

We’ve done so many SNES games, TADPOG Nation, that it’s probably about time we did a Sega Genesis one. So hot off the Eventually List, courtesy of FelixDaKatt, is Beyond Oasis. We break down various elements about the game and discuss them as usual but we also talk about having your prostate checked by various doctors, figuring out how to take money and we answer some very important calls.
