Ep. 830 – Rambo

Rambo bleeds it’s way onto TADPOG shores. Wait, that cover shot doesn’t look like it’s from the original Rambo movie, he never wielded that sort of gun in the daylight. On grass and dirt. Could this game actually be based not n Rambo First Blood but on the terribly named First Blood Part II? YES. Does that mean we have to watch and talk about BOTH movies in order to set the scene for this NES game? YES. Do you have out foremost Rambologist, Jon Turley, on the show? OF COURSE. So please, come listen to 4 old white guys talk about a movie from the 80s and and NES game from the very early 90s. We also try some stuff, talk about anime, and a few books. Won’t you come sit awhile and listen?

Ep. 824 –Platoon (NES)

Platoon! Did you know this was an NES game? Have you seen Platoon? While watching it did you think it was just the PERFECT movie to base an NES game on? No? Neither did we. But we watched/re-watched Platoon and did a deep dive into this game. Of course, we brought on our foremost gunologist – Captain Gun Nerd Jon Turley to complete the duo of TADPOG I.T. being together on the show once again. We talk about the best sort of ice to chew, Overwatch 2 characters, banana pudding, anime, and more. So won’t you sign up to come and listen to this episode? We’d hate to bring back to podcast draft.

Predator crash lands on the shores of TADPOG to turn invisible and hunt us using it’s heat vision. But don’t worry, we Peppa Pig out with some muddy puddles and we’re safe. But we do bring on the genuine article of foremost Predator experts with Game Bud Prime Nathan E (he held the 2nd best time IN THE WORLD for speed running this game). First, however, we talk zombie movies, Marvel movies, FFXIV, Star Trek, and Switch 2. We do gush over the original Predator movie aaaand them move onto the game. So please, sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 822 – Conan (NES)

Conan! What is best in life?! Not this game. It most definitely crushes Tyler, Dave, and Ian, drives us out before it, and hears the lamentations of our wives. That’s just Conan for the NES. What do we think of the 1982 hit, Conan the Barbarian? A lot more. So please, come hear us chat about a few horror movies, primarily Clown in a Cornfield. We explore more of the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion. Burlios caught a mouse and it was a thing.

Ep. 821 – Total Recall

Total Recall! Did we do this before? It’s okay if you don’t totally recall. See what I did there? Well, we jump right in here to continue to do some NES games based on 80s/90s movies with this one here. We visit Ian’s Horror Hole right off with a long list of movies. We discuss the differences in roadhouses, both Texas and Logan’s. Opinions on the Switch 2 and staples are delivered. The Karate Kid and Sinners are seen and talked about then we talk quite a bit about the movie, play an improv game, then get to the NES game. If you enjoyed Total Recall then this is the episode for you. So please, come sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 820 – Darkman

Darkman now darkens the door step of TADPOG with all its Sam Raimi glory. Per request of Ian after The Shadow, we watch this movie and play the game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Or NES. Am I trying to get more words into the intro for SEO? Maybe. I’ll never tell. We visit Ian’s Horror Hole, talk about Pee Wee Herman, hear the latest on Final Fantasy XIV, and discuss the raw tabletop power of the Circle of the Moon Druid. But there is lots and lots of prime 1990 Darkman content. So please, sit awhile and listen!

Ep. 789 – A Nightmare on Elm Street

A Nightmare on Elm Street (with some Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and 3 sprinkled in) slashes its way into the TADPOG studios! We start of with some anime talk, some video game chat, some sampling of very expensive ham and sour candies, then we roll into strong to the movie talk on A Nightmare on Elm Street and follow it up with some equally deep talk about the NES version of the game. So if you’re a horror fan on both on the big screen and the small home screen that displays the 8 bit version of the movie as a video game then OH BOY do we have a treat for you. So please, stay awhile and listen!

Ep. 788 – Hudson Hawk

Hudson Hawk arrived on TADPOG shores…hauled to from from the lowest depths by our very own Wizened Sage Ian. All three of us sat down, spent money to rent it, and watched the 1991 Bruce Willis box office bomb (it killed a studio) and receiver of 3 Razzie awards (nominated for 5) Hudson Hawk. Of course, this has its very own very late NES release. So not only do we get the full Hawk, we play this marvel of game as well. So if you want some real Hudson Hawk double dose chat, – oh boy do we have an episode for you. So please, don’t let our pain be for nothing. Come sit awhile and listen to this episode over Hudson Hawk!
