We’re back to a game and this time it’s Brandish! Heard of it? Maybe? We certainly had not. It’s got some pretty cool box art, do you think that translates into the game play? Check us out and see but before that we catch up on all the stuff that has been going on while we have been recording sessions of the Scott Pilgrim inspired D&D game. We talk about all the anime that Ian is indulging in, what media Dave has been enjoying, and how many papers that Tyler has been having to write. There is even a very special package at the end where we sample all sorts of stuff sent to us by Mr. Puzzles himself, Backlog Banisher Dane! So come sit awhile and listen to us babble about Brandish!
Wizened Sage Ian returns to the podcast to guest host much like Master Higgins returns to Super Adventure Island II! Things are a little different in the second Adventure Island on the SNES, which is appropriately named Super Adventure Island II. This game is a little bit of a departure from the series (we’ll get into that in this episode), and it’s very similar to another classic retro game (we’ll get into that too). Come dock your raft for a little bit and listen.
Have you ever looked at Link, Hero of Time, and thought “Damn, I wish that were Uncle Fester.” Well, you can have that sort of wish in Addams Family Values! We get Baja Blasted and talk about the movies, what we got up to during the week and take a very creative quiz from Ball Bro Ross Rachel Green. ALL HAIL THE RANDOMIZER FOR THE SPOOKY OCTOBER GIFT OF ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES! Maybe we will get lucky and get one of the other Addams Family games this month.
Did you really love last week’s episode of Symphony of the Night? No? TOOOOOO BAD! We are back with more talk over the game. You know we just had to bring back half of TADPOG’s Sweethearts, Josh Nance. We also brought on an entirely new guest host that has been mentioned many time – Kyle Collins of The Experience Grind Podcast! We talk about the game but also dote plenty of butts, teeth, Cooter Belmont and graboids from the Tremors franchise. Continue reading →
On this episode we further our quest to play and discuss every Castlevania game, and this one is a big one. Foretold years ago by the Necromancer Shaft, TADPOG would do at least two episodes of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Many heroes stepped up to go on this journey and those chosen today are one-half of TADPOG’s Sweethearts Josh Nance and Ruby on Rails Baron Paul Clewell. We have chosen our healing potions in the form of stout beer from Kevin Link. We sharpen our blades and manage to keep on track so we can give this game its due, and we also create the hero we all deserve. Cooter Belmont. Continue reading →
Get your candles out, it’s time to delve into the dark dungeons of Excalabria. That’s right, we’re talking about Sword of Vermilion, the 1991 Action RPG for the Sega Genesis. Additionally, Tyler reveals that he is an old man and Dave talks about how he almost lost his job. We figure out how Weird Science would work out in real life; there’s a Chuck E. Cheese story; we talk about an upcoming convention; and there’s a quiz segment entitled “Kim Jong-Il or Lil Kim?”.
We’ve done so many SNES games, TADPOG Nation, that it’s probably about time we did a Sega Genesis one. So hot off the Eventually List, courtesy of FelixDaKatt, is Beyond Oasis. We break down various elements about the game and discuss them as usual but we also talk about having your prostate checked by various doctors, figuring out how to take money and we answer some very important calls.
This is it, TADPOG Nation. The end. We have reached the final game on IGN’s Top 100 SNES games. It has taken a little over two years but now we get to the #1 game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. We bring on resident Zelda expert, TADPOG’s Sweetheart Josh Nance of Uniracers fame and because we love him and he can be here, Jon Turley of NBA James fame. Meg Holland even makes a brief appearance for intro stories. We talk about coed sleep overs, our parents’ relationship rules and even some Zelda. Its been a long road but we’re very happy you’re here with us, TADPOG Nation.
