HyperZone! Does that sound like a SNES game, a cheap 3rd party peripheral, or maybe a candy game at Chuck E. Cheese? Well, the one we are talking about is an SNES that is a totally new one on us. There is some Six Flags talk, some multiplayer game talk, and even a draft. There are some strong opinions about this strange, but in some ways not so strange, little game. But what are your favorite cartoons? Anyway, sit awhile and listen to some HyperZone talk, please!
Kirby’s Avalanche? Yes, Kirby’s Avalanche. Didn’t we do this one? Yes, almost 10 years ago. But it was subject to a greater dispel spell and is no longer available, but anything lost from IGN’s Top 100 SNES games list, we will always re-record. It just happened to drop on the Switch SNES Online service so it was a pretty opportune time to do it again. Just for the occasion, we reunite TADPOG IT with a rare appearance by Captain Gun Nerd Jon Turley. We bring it hard with a chip draft, some drink talk, some Star Wars talk, and a deep dive into the re-skin of Puyo Puyo that Kirby’s Avalanche really is – so come sit awhile and listen!
Dorkly’s Top 25 N64 games continues on TADPOG Nation. This week we’re at #20 with Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Since it’s a Kirby game AND an N64 game we have to bring back Nicole Nance of Kirby fame for the occasion. We discuss what you would do to own a giant corgi, proper lawn maintenance, how to change the tires on your Hot Wheels car and just a bit about the pink glutton that is Kirby and his works on the N64.
