Chapter 1 of the TADPOG saga comes to a close, TADPOG Nation, we have finished the reason we started making this podcast. So now before we move onto other chapters yet to be told we decided to take a look back and reflect on the list as a whole and give our own Top 10 lists. Don’t worry, we still lay it on thick with some intro stories that we have been saving. After this, please give us your input over what we should do next! We have some ideas but would also like to know what the TADPOG Nation thinks should come next. While we get your input and debate, we’ll just move on into eventually.
This is it, TADPOG Nation. The end. We have reached the final game on IGN’s Top 100 SNES games. It has taken a little over two years but now we get to the #1 game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. We bring on resident Zelda expert, TADPOG’s Sweetheart Josh Nance of Uniracers fame and because we love him and he can be here, Jon Turley of NBA James fame. Meg Holland even makes a brief appearance for intro stories. We talk about coed sleep overs, our parents’ relationship rules and even some Zelda. Its been a long road but we’re very happy you’re here with us, TADPOG Nation.
TADPOG Nation, we present to you Part 2 of our coverage of IGN’s 2nd ranked SNES game, Chrono Trigger. In accordance with Super Mario RPG Tradition we have “Nosh” (Josh and Nicole Nance) back on the show and we take a quiz. A long quiz. For most of the show before we get to what is left of Chrono Trigger. We hope you enjoy it and get ready for next week when we finish this list.
We are getting so close to the end, TADPOG Nation. Today, on this glorious Wednesday, we reach Part 1 of our talk about IGN’s #2 ranked SNES game Chrono Trigger. We have to have TADPOG’s sweetheart couple, Josh and Nicole Nance, on for the occasion. We discuss the various types of roommates, the various types of coworkers you will encounter and our own plethora of experiences with Chrono Trigger.
We are getting closer and closer TADPOG Nation. We have now arrived at IGN’s 3rd ranked game, Super Metroid. This was a new one on us so we brought in the experts in the form of Josh Nance of Uniracers fame and Sean McElwain of Contra and Mega Man X2 fame. We discuss how to not be a good friend, how to get aroused in front of your friends, where to not masturbate and a little bit about Super Metroid.
In this episode, our conversation about Final Fantasy III continues (and concludes). We delve a little further into the story of Final Fantasy III and pause frequently to positively gush. Fellow Warriors of Light, Josh Nance (TADPOG’s Sweetheart) and Meg (of MANANPOG fame) join our party to discuss one of the cornerstone JRPGs for the SNES. Milk is a running theme. #MoreMeg
We’ve reached IGN’s 4th ranked Super Nintendo game, Final Fantasy III, the RPG classic by Square. It’s a JRPG so that means we’re in for another multi-part episode. For Part 1 we’ve brought back Miller (of #moremiller fame) and MANANPOG’s very own Meg Holland. We talk about our favorite characters, favorite final parties, favorite weapons, and most importantly: debate which of Meg’s nieces played Final Fantasy 3?
Merry Almost Christmas, TADPOG Nation. Today we have broken into the Top 5 of IGN’s Top 100 SNES games. The real final stretch. We’re discussing the classic Super Mario World. For this we bring back Jacob York of Wolf Fighting Fame and his wonderful girlfriend Galen Crawley of Suzi Bass Award winning fame and Unitarian Church fame. We talk about buying cigarettes under age, where all the Taco Bells are not, the power of the Unitarian Church and when middle aged women HATE teenage boys for no real reason.
TADPOG Nation, we feel this is a pretty good day for us here as we reach IGN’s #5 ranked game, Street Fighter II Turbo. Spoilers, this is a game we all love quite a bit so it’ll be a positivity fest if you’re into that. Don’t worry, there is plenty of talk of blood, gore, illness and injury as well as the celebration of the birth of Henry David Moore.
Being finished with IGN’s Top 100 SNES games draws ever closer each week, TADPOG Nation. This week we’re at IGN’s #7 ranked game, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. We bring New Mother Meg (that’s for you FishlipsJay) on for this one since she was such a long time fan (allegedly). We talk about how to infuriate your friends with bathroom shenanigans, the best kind of alarm to wake up to and what real sort of treats that truckers really enjoy. We talk plenty about the game and discuss our various theories on the race of Yoshi.
TADPOG Nation, this is a pretty big week. Since’s its Original Flavor Wednesday we’re talking about IGN’s #8th ranked game, Super Mario Kart. This is the only game I hear such universal praise for across the TADPOG Nation so I hope we do it justice. Just to make sure we bring on Brandon Eaves of Axelay fame and The Best Burger bottom Jon Turley to help us break it down and discuss the show. We may also talk about helping friends during break ups, the best job and a surprising amount about RC Pro Am.
We’re getting so close to being done with IGN’s Top 100 SNES games, TADPOG Nation. This week we hit #9 with Star Fox. Saint Zach is on leave from the Military so we’re lucky enough to have him in studio this week. Not only to do talk about the polygonal glory of Star Fox but we take a short time to discuss the quality of kisses, how to have a first kiss and how to really mess up a first kiss. There is a quiz. It’s…a quiz. So there’s that.
