We continue our conversation about the 1993 Square classic, Secret of Mana. Has Tyler changed his mind about the game? Does Dave remember anything that he says on the podcast? Which cereal had the creepiest box when we were kids? What social status can be found in homemade confections? Have faith, TADPOG Nation, all will be answered in this episode.
The one where Tyler and Dave got lazy. We planned on doing Final Fantasy XI, but that didn’t work out. So the ladies of TADPOG — officially Meg, Nikki and Nicole — help us out by logging some time on the mics and answering your questions. It gets pretty sexy?
TADPOG Nation, do you like that we’re breaking down all these classic SNES RPGs into multiple parts? We hope so since we’re doing it again for IGN’s #11 ranked SNES game, Secret of Mana. We bring back the ol’ Taco Jon Turley to discuss this game. Tyler regales you with another Gatsby tale and Jon recounts the time he allowed a troubled youth to take shelter from the harshness of the world in the woods of his backyard. There’s a quiz that Josh Nance misses out on that really is a shame. We hope you enjoy.
TADPOG Nation, we all know that sometimes a week can get pretty stressful and out of hand, we hope you sympathize. This week was crazy but there is no way we’re going to skip a show so please accept this humble offering of a very long overdue “What we’ve been playing”. We hope you like tangents and talking about some more modern games (most are pretty weird). There are also calls and intro stories. We hope we can still make you moderately happy.
Original Flavor Wednesday. The weekly celebration where we follow the original idea for TADPOG by playing through IGN’s Top 100 SNES games. This week we’re at #12, we’re pretty sure #12, Mega Man X. We talk about the proper etiquette of curse permission, where best to masturbate for a thrill and how to make your mother just downright upset. We talk a lot of Mega Man X but there is plenty of talk about the series as a whole and some of the other Mega Man inspired works that came after. Hey, there is a quiz. Do you like those?
TADPOG Nation, the time has come again for SIDEPOG this fine Monday. We’ve been so busy with Ready Player One that we haven’t gotten to go through our call log. Your calls are very important so we needed to have a whole episode to get through most of them. Do you like gross stories along with answering calls? Tyler is a little ashamed of his intro since he believes to be very gross as are the others. So we’re just letting you know what you’re in for with the episode. It has jokes, it has gross intros, you know, just gross stories and phone calls. You take the gross, the really gross and have a good time. Also, in effort to bring all the Holland clan on TADPOG, Ryan Holland joins us on this episode and does not disappoint.
Well, TADPOG Nation, its Wednesday. It’s a bittersweet Wednesday for half of the TADPOG team as we conclude our conversation about all things relating to IGN’s #14 ranked game, Earthbound. Josh Nance of Uniracers Fame and Nicole Nance of Kirby fame join us making the whole panel of this week’s show Earthbound complete. We talk about various actions taken to hide getting caught by your parents, how best to moon people on a country road and the best way for your mom to see you kiss someone.
It’s Monday TADPOG Nation so we continue on with our Ready Player One Series. This week we’re playing the original text based adventure, Zork. This episode is pretty different so we can tell you this right away- we play this game for the first time as we record. So no regular format this week, we just stumble through a game that’s new to us. We needed stumbling partners so we brought is Josh of Uniracers fame and Nicole of Kirby fame. We very much want to hear what you think about this episode so please drop us a Tweet, Facebook message, Email, Five Star Written iTunes review, whatever.
Tyler’s long awaited Original Flavor Wednesday has arrived, TADPOG Nation. EarthBound. Or at least the first part of it. We have so much to say about this game it has to be broken down into two episodes (all of those iconic JRPGs of the SNES era will probably be like this). We try to avoid the awful walkthrough type show and just tell you what we love about the game. We talk about Bailey Jay, where to pee in order to upset your Grandma, where Monica Geller would prefer to have a midnight meeting and how much of a dick Paul McCartney and Morrisey are to Jon Turley. We pulled up Meg Holland of MANPOG fame since she played this game by force and Jon Turley to be our surrogate audience.
